earn Men’s Class D Western National Championship with 6-0 record
Oklahoma City---3 Legged Monkeys of
South El Monte, Calif., will look to regain the dominance teams from
California once enjoyed in the Men’s Class D division at the Hooters
Championship Series after winning the ASA Men’s Class D Western National
Championship in Lancaster, Calif., with a perfect 6-0 record. Teams from
the state of California won the first four titles at the Hooters

two seasons.

edging Surf City of Buena Park, Calif., 15-14, in the second round.
Another close call came in the winner’s bracket quarterfinals but 3
Legged Monkeys survived with a 12-11 win over Taylor Made of Minden,
Nev.
Just three wins away, 3 Legged
Monkeys seemed to shift into high gear the closer it got to the title.
In the semifinals it crushed FR Construction of San Dimas, Calif., 18-7,
and did the same thing to DC Chips of Valencia, Calif., posting a 16-4
win to advance to the championship game with a 5-0 record.
In the championship game, 3 Legged
Monkeys were as good as they have been the entire tournament earning an
18-7 win over Blue Water of Fallbrook, Calif., to take the title at the
Men’s Class D Western National Championship.
Six members of the 3 Legged Monkeys
roster were recognized on the All-Tournament first team including Mario
Lara, Eric Fierro, Tommy Breech, Cesar Macias, Robert Vargas and Joe
Oropeza. Five players from Blue Water were All-Tournament first-team
selections including Joseph Barragan, Joe Lacomb, Sean Smith, Pete Meza
and Masami Countryman.
If 3 Legged Monkeys are to bring the
Hooters Championship title back to California they will have to conquer
the top teams from the Class D division from across the country. They
will begin their quest on Friday, September 28 against Storm/Bosch
Financial of Cedar Rapids, Iowa in its opening game of round-robin
competition. Storm/Bosch Financial captured the Men’s Class D Northern
